The event will feature 25 of the Caribbean’ s brightest mobile startups pitching to a panel of regional and international judges in front of an audience of investors, entrepreneurs, public and private sector organizations and other entrepreneurial interests. Each of the five outstanding entrepreneurs will win a prize package valued at US$15,000 including:
- US$5,000 seed funding
- A trip to an international pitching event
- Online training
- Placement with one of our four regional PitchIT Caribbean mHub business accelerators
Our much talked about inaugural PitchIT Caribbean Challenge held in Montego Bay, Jamaica in June 2016, showcased 25 extraordinary tech teams representing seven territories throughout the Caribbean region. They participated in a rigorous selection process and workshops with expert
The PitchIT Caribbean Challenge is the biggest tech-entrepreneurship competition and showcase to be held in the Caribbean. International coaches, which culminated in the PitchIT competition. The results of that event have been amazing, with Silicon Valley investors taking interest in some of the startups and one startup closing a large round of investment from a regional angel investor group.
The second staging of the challenge was held in Port of Spain on December 7, 2016. We had five female-led startups that scored big at the PitchIT Caribbean Challenge tech entrepreneurship competition. A total of 25 tech entrepreneurs from ten countries across the Caribbean (increased from the previous edition’s seven) participated in the competition.
St. Kitts will come alive on June 13 – 17, 2017 when the Caribbean Mobile Innovation Project (CMIP) presents the first PitchIT Caribbean Challenge June 2016. Come participate in discussions surrounding the Caribbean tech ecosystem.
